We actively grade material into AB, B/C and mix, one of the few sawmills with such detailed grading of ash and oak. The material seasons naturally in a covered, ventilated drying shed for 6 to 24 months.

The two main thicknesses are 28 and 52 mm, measured dry. We measure the board in the middle, without the waney edge, because bark is not counted.

All items available on request, we will prepare a quote for specific dimensions and quantities.

We send the current sawn timber price list on request. Tell us the species, grade and thickness and we will reply with availability.

Questions about sawn timber

How do you measure the timber and is sapwood counted?

We measure in the middle of the board, without the waney edge. Bark is not counted, sapwood is included in the measured section. For oak at 28 mm the material is always edged, on two sides or one; we do not set percentage shares for that.

What do grades AB, B/C and mix mean?

These are quality grades describing the number and size of knots and defects. AB is the cleanest material; mix combines grades at a favourable price. We will advise the right grade for your use.

Is the timber dried?

Yes, natural seasoning in a covered, ventilated shed (6–24 months) plus drying for joinery, delivering timber with controlled moisture content.

Can oak be bought in summer?

Yes. We care for oak all year round, paraffin-sealed ends and storage under a roof mean the quality is the same in summer and winter.
