Larch has the highest resin content in the heartwood of the softwoods we handle, so it copes well with water and sun. That is why it goes into cladding, decking and exterior joinery.

We built the “Warm Feet” hen house from larch and pine. You can see that project in our portfolio. Larch is made to order, so give us the size, quantity and timing.

Questions about larch timber

Does larch need treating on a deck?

Larch heartwood is naturally durable thanks to its resin, but without protection it will still grey under UV. A preservative or oil does not stop decay, it only keeps the colour.
