Oak sawn timber

Oak sawn timber is the speciality of the Drewno Pilarscy S.C. sawmill in Sulęcin, Poland. Oak, including red oak, is sawn, graded into AB, B and mix, and seasoned naturally under a roof.

The ends of every board are paraffin-sealed so the oak does not crack, and long timber is debarked before sawing. Boards rest on aligned stickers and season for 6 to 24 months, no kiln shortcuts.

Grade AB goes into stairs, worktops and visible furniture; B and mix where wood character and a good price matter. We will advise the grade for your project.

Which oak grade for stairs?

For treads and visible elements grade AB (fewest knots) is the usual choice. Rustic/mix suits projects where knots are an asset. We advise based on your design.
